Abstract:
Opto-electronic technology is an interdisciplinary field integrating photonics, electronics, and quantum manipulation. It has continuously achieved breakthroughs in information acquisition, energy transmission, target perception, and environmental cognition, and is deeply empowering applications such as target detection, opto-electronic countermeasures, information communication, navigation and guidance in complex environments. It is also accelerating toward miniaturization, intelligence, and systematization. To systematically present the latest research progress in advanced opto-electronic technologies and their defense applications,
Opto-Electronic Engineering organized the special issue "Advanced opto-electronic technologies: frontiers and interdisciplinary approaches" in 2026, featuring 14 papers including 11 original papers and 3 review articles, covering directed energy technology, intelligent opto-electronic perception and information processing, advanced opto-electronic system design and integration, photoconductive switches and high-power microwaves, and other frontier interdisciplinary directions. It aims to promote the application of advanced opto-electronic technologies in information acquisition and intelligent applications, and to provide references for researchers in related fields.
